SHIP MANAGEMENT PROJECT ENGINEER-NIGERIA LNG LIMITED.

Vacancy Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Vacancy Responsibilities:

The appointee for the vacancy will be required to work as part of a multidisciplinary engaged in major ship building projects for LNG and LPG carriers as well as Offshore units such as FLNG and FLPG barges. Provides expertise and advice on all aspects of construction, operation as well as project management for projects in which the shipping Division has an interest. Take charge of design and construction under guidance from a senior engineer and assist a site manger during production of new ships for Nigeria LNG/BGT.

Duties:

• Prepare and outline technical specifications and participate in evaluation of bids, design development process, plan approval, visit shipyards during construction and commissioning, attend factory acceptance tests and sea trials


• Analyze and advise on vessel operating parameters to identify inefficient machinery
.

• Ensure that the design of new ships is in line with the requirement for safety operability and reliability as set in policies of the Division
.

• Promote health, safety and environment and quality management policies on Nigeria LNG within company and to the third parties involved with management of BGT
Qualification: The right candidate should:

• Have a Chief Marine Engineering Certificate of Competency (Class 1 combined) or a Bachelors degree in Mechanical and Marine Engineering


• Possess 5-7 years shipping operations experience within an integrated shipping/oil/gas company of which 3 years should be as Chief Engineer on LNG/LPG carriers
.

• Possess sound knowledge of shipping operation/management as well as strong financial management skill
.

• Have excellent communication skills and not more than 43 years old
.
