Position Description

PURPOSE OF JOB:
Provide client and market insights and assists with implementation of the sales process including research, business reports, sales pitches etc.
Ensures compliance requirements are actioned
Manages Client information on bank’s database
Relationship building with internal clients (product, credit, finance) to effectively manage business performance.
Customer care and service
Follow-up with client service teams to ensure that service level agreements are adhered to.
Dealing with issues/queries to ensure client service is of the highest standard.
Act as a point of contact for enquiries often in the absence of the Relationship Manager
Supports RMs in the credit process
Preparation of Business Assessment Committee papers
Credit application (getting the relevant client information to forward to credit)
Monitor and manage the workflow between credit and relevant coverage sector
Assist with the management of the Departments position and other performance management targets including revenue and costs.
Keep and maintain adequate records of all business performance management data.
Constantly developing an intimate understanding of the sectors macroeconomic drivers, the key players, the clients, competitors, and recommending strategy.
Track and monitor client product utilisations and revenue reporting.
Work with stakeholders to “project manage” agreed actions arising from management meetings.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Provides timely and relevant client performance data and market intelligence for effective management decision making
Quality control and management of all Business reporting and MIS for the relevant sector
Financial Control – Performance Monitoring and Variance analysis
Managing Credit workflows for the relevant sector.

Job Context

Youth Unemployment is a growing phenomenon in the Africa region. In Nigeria, youth unemployment is estimated at about 20 25% of the population. It is also increasing, especially given the current state of economic challenges. The Federal Government recently created a Ministry of Youth Development and the Ministry along with other stakeholders developed a Youth Development Strategy with an Action Plan. (2009 -2015). A Youth Development Fund has also been created. The Ministry along with Ministry of Labor and Productivity, Ministry of Women Affairs, Ministry of Niger Delta and the National Planning Commission are currently fashioning interventions on youth employment and job creation, Several State Governments, Local Governments and Non Government Organizations are also executing pilot youth employment and empowerment schemes across the Country.

The World Bank is geared to assist the Federal and State Government of Nigeria in addressing the challenges of youth unemployment. The Country Partnership Strategy (2010 – 2013) identifies Youth Employment interventions as one of the initiatives of Government that the World Bank will support in the contribution to improve human capital in the Country and ultimately promoting growth and development. Within the Region, the Social Protection (SP) Unit of the World Bank (AFTSP) provides policy and technical advice as well as financial support to initiatives of Government on provision and protection basic services for the extreme poor. In Nigeria the Unit is currently focused on Community-based social services delivery, Safety Nets, Labor and Youth employment.

AFTSP is recruiting a local Social Protection Specialist on extended term consultancy basis for two years, based in Abuja, Nigeria. The SP specialist will help strengthen the current SP team to identify youth-related priority areas for support, and work with local counterparts to help formulate specific interventions, accelerate results on the ground especially on the youth employment program.

Job Duties and Accountability

The Social Protection Specialist will work closely with the World Bank country teams, to provide technical and policy advice and operational guidance to government teams, at both federal and state levels, and consultants on social protection interventions, especially the youth employment initiatives. The SPS will work under the management of the AFTSP Sector Manager and guidance of the AFCW2 Country Director. He/she would report to the SP Task Team Leader. .

Job Key responsibilities include

• Help in compiling knowledge of operational activities on the ground, their impact and scalability
• Providing technical inputs into a1l aspects of youth employment initiatives and operations of the Unit, including developing concept notes, terms of reference for consultancy, project appraisal documents, monitoring and evaluation frameworks systems and other documents to be prepared by the Unit.
• Supervising and providing guidance for the implementation of consultancy undertaking to produce documentations, framework and system designs for youth employment and other social protection initiatives
• Supporting capacity building of Federal and State teams and institutions for effective implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the National Youth Development Action Plan and Strategy.
• Working with other development partners and civil society in the Country to develop effective youth employment mechanism In specific and social protection strategy in general.

Job Selection Criteria

The successful candidate will have:
• An advanced degree in social sciences, or related subject area, and at least five years of relevant experience in development work, including design and implementation of targeted poverty reduction interventions. Youth-development work related experience will be an asset.
• Relevant experience in Development Agencies operations, including provision of technical: or operational support for projects or country assistance strategies in the area of human capital development.
• Superior organizational and logistical skills; capacity to work simultaneously and effectively on a variety of tasks;
• Excellent writing, oral and presentation skills.
• Behavioral competencies that facilitate dialogue with country partners and country teams, including listening skills effective teamwork, knowledge sharing, training and capacity development skills, and ability to adapt advice to the local institutional realities

Job Description
CLEARING
- Process all outward clearing cheques and ensure the clearing account is reconciled and zerorised daily.
- Safe custody of outward clearing cheques before forwarding to Head office.
- Submit daily outward cheques to Head Office in line with SLA
- Make copies of all daily outward clearing cheques and keep a file for them.
- Maintaining a register of returned cheques.
- Prepare caution notices on outward cheques of N1,000,000.00 and above.
- Maintain a register for outward caution notices and a file for acknowledgements.
- Maintain a file for inward caution notices.

SYSTEM ADMIN
- Communication: Provide Help Desk for users in the branch on production problems and enquiries.
- Maintain all hardware and software log up to date.
- Check all job set ups prior to processing and inform IT of potential problems and assist in resolution.
- Ensure that Health and Safety standards are adhered to.
- Ensure correct operation of the bank¿s hardware is maintained.
- Ensure that all appropriate peripherals are cleaned at least once a day and any hardware defect is reported and resolved.
- Ensure that the computer room is clean and tidy at all time and that security is maintained.
- Ensure that the systems input and output are securely backed up and tapes well maintained both on-site and off-site.

KYC
- Ensure you remain alert to the risk of money laundering and assist in the Bank’s efforts in combating it by adhering to the principles in relation to:

- Identifying your customer, knowing your customer, reporting suspicions, safeguarding records and not disclosing suspicions to Customers.
-Be responsible for undertaking the business monitoring and testing and reporting findings / exceptions.

BRANCH ADMIN

- Maintain and update stationery stock register for all stationary items.
- Ensure adequate stocks of all stationery items are available all the time.

GENERAL
- Forward all processed OTT txns to the hub for further processing.
- Act as PINs custodian.
- Create and update database of all OTT and TC txns processed daily.
- Collate and prepare covering schedules for OTT, Foreign cheques sent on collection,TC purchased and foreign drafts for onward delivery to Item processing

H/O

- Handle customer enquiries in a manner which meets agreed service standards.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- System administration, process outward clearing, cheques , raise entries for expenses, prepare FX transaction schedules (TCs, Form A, Foreign Chqs, etc) for remittance to H/O, maintain FX transactions database, and other administrative functions.

Qualifications & Skills
- B.Sc University degree(2:2 minimum).
- Few years relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of Ebbs/eOpal/eBranch application software.
- Sound knowledge of banking and statutory regulations.
- Strong inter-personal skills to manage relationship managers.
- Good analytical skills to analyse, interpret, resolve and change workflow and improve productivity.
- Ability to identify, analyse and manage operational risks.

Objectives
The principal activities of the LAN, Telecommunications and User Support Division are to ensure that the computer and telecommunication systems of the Bank fit the needs of the Institution and function in an efficient and cost effective manner, and that the user community is equipped and trained with the appropriate standard tools.

Duties and responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Division Manager, the incumbent will carry out the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise and direct assistance for configuration management with emphasis on telephone technologies to support the development and deployment of the Bank’s information systems

  • Participate in oversight of the technical administration and management of all mission critical voice communications systems and services of the Bank

  • Provide assistance in strategy and planning, implementation and upgrades, capacity planning, operation, and trouble-shooting and resolution coordination of any issues regarding these systems

  • Ensure that telecommunications equipment and services are maintained and continue to operate according to service level agreements, both with vendors and the Bank’s client.
  • Manage the Bank Private Automatic Board Exchanges (PABX) and ensure that equipment functions correctly and that information is safeguarded

  • Assist with the migration of the Bank’s telephony infrastructure to an IP-based platform (the Integrated Communications Platform – ICP project), including implementation, integration, training and roll-out of endpoints

  • Oversee the backup of Bank call record and billing information as well as the information transfer between the PBX and automated information systems

  • Coordinate the connection/disconnections as well as transfer, maintenance and repairs of phone, fax and telex machine including services with the local telephone companies and users

  • Completes the evaluation of hardware and software for adoption within the Bank's computing environments, providing technical expertise with emphasis on telecommunications technologies

  • Represent the ADS in corporate and inter-agency forums related to configuration management activities, with emphasis on telecommunications technologies e.g., AGIP seminars etc
