FEWS NET NIGERIA: MARKETS AND TRADE SPECIALIST JOBS
The Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) is a USAID-funded activity that collaborates with international, regional and national partners to provide timely and rigorous food security and early analysis of potential emerging/and or evolving food security issues. FEWS NET professionals in Africa, Central America and The United State monitor and analyze relevant data information in terms of its impacts on livelihoods to identify potential threats to food security by FEWS NET.
The Markets and Trade Specialist (FEWS NET) -Nigeria will be responsible for examining and monitoring trade flow in the country and with neighboring countries to determine how business and trade issues affect the national economy, food security in Nigeria and in the Sahel/West Africa.
TO QAULIFY FOR THIS JOB YOU MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:
- Advanced degree, 5 years experience in market analysis, economics or related fields, possess a good grasp of domestic and regional trade in Nigeria and issues related to trade of Agricultural products within Nigeria and Coastal countries by FEWS NET
- Have experience in analyzing the linkage between food security in Nigeria and sub-region, strong data collection, processing and analytical skills related to business and prices in FEWS NET
- Knowledge in Agricultural policies in Nigeria, fluent in English and functional, French is a plus
- Nigerian Citizen to work with FEWS NET
