ActionAid Nigeria: Project Accountant (Abuja)


ActionAid is an international Non- governmental organisation registered in the Netherlands and now ActionAid.

To effectively consolidate on our new country strategy, AAN is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill the position of Project Accountant based at the Country Office, Abuja

Person Specifications
Education/Qualifications
• Degree in Accounting or Finance is essential.
• Chartered Accountant (ICAN) is essential

Experience
• At least seven years post NYSC experience with at least four years as an accountant and 3 years in a similar position in the development sector. Sound Practical Knowledge of SUN accounting software and Spreadsheets (MS Office in general) & experience in handling cash are essential.
Experience in working with international development of NGO agencies is desirable.

Skill/Abilities
Attention to details; knowledge of management accounting practices, strong financial management skills, fluency in spoken and written English language; ability to work independently and in a team & highly numerate skills are essential.
Excellent planning and prioritisation skills & strong analytical/problem solving skills are desirable.

Personal Qualities
Excellent oral and written communication skills; well developed and proven interpersonal & organisational management skills; able to work effectively in a diverse team environment; creative and should be able to take initiative; should be ready to work additional hours at crucial times & and high integrity are essential.
