The institute is a parastatal of Federal Ministry of Health.Its mandate is to undertake basic,applied and operational job research in bio-medical sciences with the aim of advancing the frontiers of knowledge in medicine,producing better understanding of the diseases prevalent in the country and improving their control in the job.

Job Qualification and Job Experience:

The position is open to Clinical$Bio-medical scientists of high National and international repute.Suitable job candidates must:

Possess postgraduate academic job qualification as well as postgraduate proffessional job qualification where appropriate.

Provide evidence of distinguished and continuing contribution to medical knowledge through job research and job publication.

Have leadership job experience in research and management in University or Research institute level for the job.

Job Duties:

The Director-General is the Chief Executive of the Institute.He is responsible for the execution of the mandadate of the institute and smooth running of its job day-to-day, job affiars.As a scientist,he is to provide research leadership and as job manager he is expected to provide an environment congenial for high level scientific pursuit.
