ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, PROCUREMENT JOB VACANCY-JOHN SNOW INC

John Snow, Inc. a US based international public health firm, manages four (4) projects through its integrated offices in Abuja, Nigeria. John Snow Inc. seeks to fill the position of Deputy Procurement Director in this office (John Snow Inc).Through the partnership for supply chain management consortium. John Snow Inc is implementing the supply chain management system contract for US government as part of the US president’s emergency for Aids relief. The purpose to establish and operate a safe, secure, reliable and sustainable supply chain management to procure pharmaceuticals and other products needed to provide care and treatment of persons with HIV/AIDS and related infections. John Snow Inc is providing support and capacity building facilities and central level programs in procurement and the management of laboratory commodities and supplies.
John Snow Inc is also implementing the USAID/DELIVER contract, funded by USAID, a technical assistance aimed at increasing the availability of essential health supplies through procurement services and strengthening supply chains in developing counties. JSI is also providing services under two contracts with the National Agency for Control of Aids (NACA).

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing, sourcing and contract negotiation strategies for acquisition of goods and services for PEPFAR IPi

  • Managing ongoing supplier relationships, proactively resolving discrepancies/problems in contract execution

  • Developing Request for Proposals, Request for quotations, Bid analysis, sourcing plans, analyzing market trends and identifying cost saving opportunities

  • Working together with colleagues to ensure that clients request are adequately captured



Experience & Qualifications

  • University degree, 2 or more years experience in the health field or logistic management with specific emphasis on executive procurement functions

  • Professional qualification, and experience under USAID/CDC regulations is required

  • Experience with international donor-funded project, excellent written and spoken English, ability to work in team, suitable computer skills with spread sheet, word processing preferably in Microsoft word, excel and project
