POST TITLE: NPO-FAMILY HEALTH PROGRAMME

ORGANIZATION UNIT: WHO REPRESENTATIVE’S OFFICE, NIGERIA
DURATION WITH WHO: TWO YEARS FIXED-TERM POST NO. 134190
JOB OBJECTIVES:
Serves as WHO focal point for Maternal and Child Health/Family Health programme activities in the country to liaise with, and provide support to all relevant government departments and institutions. In collaboration all agencies actively involved, assists the Ministry of Health to plan an effective MCH/FP programme, advocating the integrated approach within the PHC development process in World Health Organization (WHO).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the WHO Representative, the incumbent will perform the following duties:
- Review and analyze national Maternal and newborn health policies, strategies and related legislation
- Assist and advise the national Maternal and newborn health including family planning task force in the development strategies for family panning, provide technical assistance in the development of operational plans and tools for MNH and facilitate the dissemination of maternal and newborn health, plans and relevant tools
- Provide technical assistance for the implementation some basic needs for the children under their care
- Establish and coordinate effective partnership with key stakeholders, promotion and monitoring
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Excellent knowledge in MCH/FP programme management, competency in modern training skills and epidemiological research
- 2-3 years practical experience in planning, implementing, monitoring and supervising of MCH/FP activities in WHO
- Medical degree, postgraduate degree in public health, or Obstetrics, Gynecology and computer literate are very essential
